I have a very traditional Chinese name which the full name is Beh Lay Huang when call in Teowchew dialect. However I have a nickname for myself as BAYZ, it comes from the word BAY meaning a reddish-brown horse. Yup, I love horsey as it is my family name “BEH”. I am based in Penang, but open to shooting everywhere in the world.

 I start my photography journey few years ago start as a hobbyist… an amateur… and finally full time working as freelance photographer. I like to have flexible time to do what I like, now I can pick up my camera and just go shooting anytime, what I need is making sure an empty memory card & charged battery standby anytime.

Some people said “cool to be a female shooter”. Opps, I shoot not because I want to look cool, I shoot because I really really love to shoot. It’s simple reason same as most of others photographer.

I shoot weddings, events & portraitures most of the time, I prefer something candid & natural, trying something new with creativity. Preparing is very important before my every shooting, you might need to prepare some accessories to match the dress or background or the theme which will make the album look so different.

Besides shooting, design & editing is one the thing I spend a lot of time on it. I love dreaming, I love creating artistic work which might only happen in dreams. I do not limit myself to only ‘original’, an effect or a color really can change the feeling of a photo. So, I keep trying with my creativity in this digital world, surprise might just come with a click on the editing software. Of course, I still like original but no harm to add more choices for yourself with something creative?
